History

Humble Beginning
Church of God In Darwin is based in Darwin City which is the capital city of Australia’s Northern Territory, which comprises one sixth of the continent.

Church of God In Darwin was formed in early February 2011 as an independent church, by a group of Malayalee Pentecostal believers who migrated to Darwin from Kerala. It was their desire to worship God in Spirit and truth in their own language, Malayalam. Church of God In Darwin is the first and only Malayalee Pentecostal church in Darwin, Northern Territory.

In the beginning the service were held at 27 Kilfoyle Street, Nakara, Darwin at Pr. Minu Mathew’s Residence. During that time Pr. Daniel Philip was in Darwin on a visit to his son and family, who agreed to guide and support the church thus formed until he is available in Darwin.

In March 2011, Church of God In Darwin eventually moved in to Alawa Primary School, renting one of the classroom. Pr. Daniel Philip was the Pastor of the church till December 2011 and from thereon Pr. Minu Mathew Kurian was appointed as the Pastor of the Church.
